The Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging and Justice is designed to serve our Inver Hills Community College and Dakota County Technical College & communities. Our work aims to integrate diversity, equity, inclusion, justice and belonging (DEIJB) into every part of our organizations from the classroom experience, recruiting students, to hiring and retention practices, to providing the culture of respect, belonging and value we foster on our campuses.
The Office of DEIJB , as well as the broader Inver Hills campus community, is strongly committed to excellence by including and integrating individuals who represent different race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic background, age, disability, national origin and religion. Inver Hills does not only seek diversity, but also acceptance, appreciation, respect, and equality. Raquel is a first-generation college graduate with family roots in El Salvador. She has a passion to bring people together across cultures, race and ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, education, social needs, and all parts of our individual and collective identities. After graduating from the University of California, Davis, Raquel served as an AmeriCorps member with City Year, Washington, DC with an aim to advance racial and economic equity through national service and volunteerism. In any role she takes, Raquel fosters collaboration with intentions to uplift marginalized voices and hold space for all. In her free time, she enjoys a foodie adventures, running, walking with her dog and son, reading, creating art, and sitting out enjoying the sun!
