The Inver Hills Community College Public Safety Department is dedicated to developing partnerships with the community we serve, including students, staff and faculty in order to enhance the goal of providing quality higher education in a safe and secure atmosphere. Through these partnerships, we will preserve a learning environment that supports academic freedom, respect for diversity, fair and equal treatment to all, and an open exchange of ideas.
The Department of Public Safety is a division of Inver Hills Community College's Office of Finance and Administration. Authority has been delegated to the department by the College President to take appropriate action that is necessary to maintain a safe and secure environment on all property owned, leased or occupied by Inver Hills. The Department enforces campus policies and the student code of conduct.
Through mutual aid the department assists with enforcement of local, state and federal laws. The department also contracts with the local police department for additional security services.
