Graduation and Commencement
Application for Graduation
Students can apply to graduate during any semester. You are encouraged to apply for graduation by March 6, 2015 in order to guarantee that your information is included in the next commencement ceremony. You will need to meet with an advisor or counselor to apply for graduation. You can stop in during open advising or call (651) 450-3508 for an appointment.
Celebrate your achievement at the Commencement Ceremony! Your invitation to commencement is sent in the mail at the end of March. This celebration for graduates is held once a year at the end of spring semester. If you are graduating in the fall or spring you can attend the spring commencement ceremony. If you are planning to graduate in the summer after the commencement, you can arrange to attend the spring commencement ceremony before you graduate. Spring 2015 commencement will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 7:00 pm.
Cap and Gown
Before commencement you will need to get your cap and gown. Watch the Student Bulletin for the date of gown check-out. When you check out your cap and gown, you will receive four complimentary tickets to give to your family and friends to attend commencement. You will need to return the gown after commencement, but the cap and tassel are yours to keep.
One month after the end of the term, “graduation checks” are processed to make certain your degree requirements have been completed. If you have fulfilled all requirements, you will receive a congratulations letter in the mail along with one official transcript (stamped by the Registrar) that shows your completed degree.
When your requirements are completed, the Enrollment Center will order your diploma. You should receive your diploma in the US mail about 3-4 months after your last semester.
Certificate Application for Graduation
Students graduating in a certificate program may complete the Application for Certificate Completion and fax, mail or drop off the form to the Enrollment Center.
