Greetings, I am Janice Hofschulte a faculty member in the Education and Human Services departments. I have been an instructor in the Minnesota State system in Education as well as in the Business program for more than fifteen years. I have taught at Metropolitan State University, Pine Technical and Community College, St. Paul College, South Central College, Hennepin Technical College and Anoka Technical College. I am a member of the Minnesota State E-lect partnership and ACCESS committee comprised of early childhood faculty across the state of Minnesota. Four of my online courses have received the Quality Matters course design standards recognition.
Prior to teaching at the college level, I was an administrator of Early Childhood Family Education, EC Screening, School Readiness and Way to Grow programs in Minnesota. Currently I am a trainer for the Minnesota Department of Education, on the Pyramid Model working collaboratively with the Centers of Excellence. In addition, I have partner with the Minnesota Department of Education and the Department of Human Services developing curriculum for early childhood professionals. I have authored curriculum and continues to train for the Child Care Aware system training child care providers, Head Start and school based educators.
I received a Masters of Arts in Organizational Management from Concordia University St. Paul and a Masters in Science in Child & Family Studies from St. Cloud State University. I am a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) as well as a licensed parent educator and early childhood teacher in the state of Minnesota.
I am a proud mom of three boys who keep me very active on the weeknights as well as weekends with their sporting events - we love a good game of cribbage, football or even basketball in the driveway. When I am not grading out papers for you, I enjoy listening to a variety of music, gardening, traveling, volunteering at school and booster clubs and hanging out with friends.

She is licensed as a Licensed Independent Social Worker with the Minnesota Board of Social Work. Jill has been practicing in the field for 14 years mainly in non-profit settings serving older adults and people with disabilities. She has worked in a variety of roles providing direct service and, in the last 7 years, has been in leadership roles serving and supporting staff social workers to help enable them to be the most effective in their work with their clients. Jill enjoys her hectic life with her husband, their three children ages 2, 4, and 7, and their very active chocolate lab and orange domestic shorthair cat. In her free time, she enjoys baking and has been an active volunteer with the Upper Midwest Great Dane Rescue since 2011 when they first adopted their two Great Danes who have since passed. “Someday, when our kids are grown and a bit more able to physically fend for themselves with an 150 lb dog, we’ll have a Dane again!” she says.
